This is a post for all the people born in April and May. I know this year your birthday might not be the way you intended it to be and you might not be able to spend it with your family and friends, just know that this too shall pass.
We need to be resilient in these unpredictable times and let’s focus on all the things that we have been blessed with, and others might be deprived of. I’m writing this, after I cut my homemade cake (I prefer homemade ones to store bought anyway) as they have more sentiment behind them.
I’m not much for birthdays now, I guess it comes with age. However for the sake of full disclosure, there was a time when I used to be all giddy and excited for my birthday, I guess we all are at some point no?
There are thousands of people around the world right now who are deprived of basic amenities, let’s focus on giving back to the community this year. This year, I’m planning on giving alms to the poor either monetarily or with food and supplies.
You can also pledge to do the same on your birthday whenever that may be. It takes one step to make a difference, take that step now and be the change you wish to see in the world.
